AstroAsana - Pisces

Putting this series of AstroAsanas together has changed me on a very deep level. It has allowed me the opportunity to deeply dive into each sign of the Zodiac in a different way that I have done before.

Like an actor preparing for a role, I allow myself to submerge into the energies of each sign and try to experience life from that perspective for a month or so.

Swimming in the waters of Pisces, the last sign of the Zodiac, has brought me to my knees, in a good way. To my knees in a sign of reverence and humility.

Each of the signs represents a piece of the life journey. The twelve of them together give us clues to how we are experiencing life and love and as I see it, the Life of Yoga.

Each of us has the energy of all twelve signs contained with in us. Some of the energies are are stronger than others and color what our current journey is about.

But the journey ultimately brings us to Pisces, the final sign, the twelfth house. The Pisces symbol is the fish- the two dolphins swimming in opposite directions- the material and the spiritual- the understanding and blending of what seems opposites.

Just like every other sign of the Zodiac, Pisces has its challenges and apparent limitations but in it’s pure essence it is mercy, forgiveness and unconditional love. Mercy, forgiveness and unconditional love first for ourself and then for everyone around us.

Can we even imagine, “A love that knows no boundaries”?

For thousands of years we have been attracted to the stories of the Piscean Messengers— Dionysius, Buddha, The Christ.

Why? Because they reveal to us what is possible for us. Each of us has the potential of these messengers inside us.

This is the yogic journey that each of us is on, no matter our current Astrological sign. The Pisces energy reminds us to open to Grace, have faith and give over to Divine Will.

And then………. Peace.

Pisces is the energy of love we cultivate through our practices, alone and in solitude. Our efforts may not be apparent to the outside world and those around us, but they are always noticed by the Divine.

Join us this Saturday February 28, 2015, from 4:30 -6:30 as we explore the journey and stories of Pisces at Shine Yoga, 3330 Erie Avenue, Hyde Park. There will be a discussion of the Pisces energy and then about 90 minutes of Asana. The class is designed for most levels.

We hope you can join us for this months Love Fest.

Peace. Rob & Steve
